Plancast Looks Pretty Cool. Might Be Cooler Though if I had Some User Friends And Could Actually Check It Out

If you follow this blog there's a fairly decent chance you also follow me on Twitter. And if you follow me on Twitter you know that I am a pretty avid follower of Foursquare. Despite the fact that I recognize it's probably pretty annoying to my followers -- hell, it's annoying to me at times -- I find Foursquare oddly addictive. As I have stated before, I also believe it is a harbinger of things to come from a geo location standpoint. Even my kids have gotten into the act. I can't go anywhere without one of them reminding me to check in. We are quite the Tech Dork brood. But I digress.

Tonight, MG Siegler of Techcrunch wrote about a pretty cool start up, Plancast. As usual, his item captures the essence of Plancast succinctly. This one I think has a lot of potential; in a certain sense, it takes social networking to a different, more proactive level. I think this could work well with the younger demographic, too. I signed up but as is generally the case with these nascent services, it doesn't offer much utility until other compadres are on board (see Google Wave). So, if you are reading this, take a moment to sign up  (it literally takes minutes) and let's determine together whether this one has utility.
